Different kinds of Infertility Treatments are performed on a man or a woman depending on the problems and conditions of the couple.

Fertility Options for Women:

In Vitro Fertilization

In Vitro Fertilization is the most effective Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and is commonly referred to as IVF. IVF Treatment is a process of artificial fertilization, where an egg is fused with sperm externally in a laboratory dish. This procedure is generally done using your eggs and your partner's sperm Or IVF may involve eggs, sperm or embryos from a donor. IVF procedure can be used to treat infertility issues in the following patients:

  • Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes
  • Women with ovulation problems, premature ovarian rupture or uterine fibroids
  • Male factor infertility, that includes a decrease in sperm count or sperm motility
  • Women who have removed their fallopian tubes
  • Individuals with a genetic malady
  • Unexplained infertility problems

Ovulation Induction (OI)

Ovulation induction is a treatment for an infertility condition in which follicles in a woman’s ovaries do not ovulate. It is termed as anovulation. Anovulation can be caused by Polycystic Ovary Syndrome - PCOS, lack of nutrition or excessive physical exercise. Ovulation induction is performed with medications that help to stimulate the ovary to produce and release eggs.

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

IUI or intrauterine insemination is a simple fertility treatment. The procedure involves transferring washed semen directly into the uterus through a thin catheter. It is a painless and cheaper alternative.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection  (ICSI)

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection or ICSI process involves a tiny needle called micropipette which is used to inject a single sperm into the center of the egg. ICSI procedure helps to subdue infertility problems like:

  • Low sperm count to do artificial insemination
  • Abnormal movement of the sperm
  • The inability of the sperm to fertilize the egg.
  • A blockage in the male reproductive tract obstructing the sperm from getting out.
  • Eggs that have not fertilized by traditional IVF, despite the condition of the sperm.

Regenerative medicine

Regenerative medicine is the part of a medical study that develops methods to regrow, repair or replace damaged or diseased cells, organs or tissues. There are a number of Regenerative medicine methods. Some of them are:

  • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is injected into the woman's ovary under ultrasound for Ovarian rejuvenation.
  • Stem Cell Therapy is used for ovarian rejuvenation in case of premature ovarian failure and Testicular in case of azoospermia

Fertility Options for men:

Some of the causes of male infertility are curable through surgery. Options for treatment may include:

  • Treatment with antibiotics, in case of an infection
  • Surgical correction, to remove a varicocele, a reverse a vasectomy, or clear a duct obstruction
  • Fertility drugs to increase sperm generation

If the above treatments are ineffective, or the causes of male infertility are not known or untreatable, IUI treatment or IVF/ICSI treatment may be suggested.
